Q: Digital Video Recorder (DVR) Installations-Basics
A: Preferred installation is an open frame, standard 19" rack or an enclosed type with suitable ventilation. Use the Provided rack ears to mount the DVR.
On a secure shell or table top close to all power and cabling. The DVR should be out of sight
and away from traffic.
In a proper component lock box offering good ventilation. See Speco part number LB1.
In an environmentally-controlled are where the temperature does not exceed 60-80 degrees fahrenheit and < 70% relatively humidity. In addition, there should be no vibration or shock from heavy machinery or vehicular traffic
(except for mobile DVRs).

Q: How to Calculate Voltage Drop for Long
Paired Wire Runs?
A: A primary concern when installing lengths of
wire is voltage drop. The amount of voltage lost between the originating power supply and the device being powered can be significant. Improper selection of wire gauge can lead to
an unacceptable voltage drop at load end.
The following chart is designed to help calculate voltage drop per 100 feet of paired wire as a function of wire gauge and load current.
By matching load current (in AMPs) across the
top of the chart with wire gauge (AWG) down
the left side of the chart, one can determine voltage drop per 100 feet of paired wire run.

Q: What is the video signal to noise ratio -
Video & Audio Performance?
A: Signal to noise ratio is inversely proportion
to the transmission distance and will vary from over 60 dB down to 40 dB depending on the transmission distance, transmitter power and antenna gains.
Q: What is the output power of the transmitter - RF & Microwave?
A: For the power Part 15 compliant systems it is
a approximately 2.0 mW. For the high power equipment it is 250 mW.

Q: I installed the 5200 but the door does not quite catch cleanly do I need to adjust the
door?
A: The unit is easily adjusted while installed in
the frame by moving the adjusting screws that allow significant movement in the frame and should solve your problem while still
maintaining the locks strength. |
